All across Iowa celebrating Earth Day

April24

After trekking my kids to and from South Dakota, we then took a trip to Burlington, IA (3 hour drive, one way), Cedar Rapids, IA (2 hour drive, one way) AND Fairfield, IA (2 hour drive, one way).  Yes, these were all done on three separate days, there and back in one day.  Can we all just agree now that I have serious car riding troopers for children!  Embrace the idea of watching movies on the road and tell them we are going for Daddy’s work and they are game for just about anything.  We dressed them in SolPowerPeople shirts and set them out as our mascots! Needless to say, we have been very busy marketing and exploring this state.  I fell in love with Fairfield.  They are very green, earth loving hippies!  My kind of people.  And I learned that Fairfield is only 1 hour further away to a little village called Dancing Rabbit. I read about this village last year and I have always wanted to go.  I did get to meet some of the residents who live there. I love the idea they are going for, but to be honest, I just don’t think I have it in me to live that kind of lifestyle. Although, I do totally agree with everything they are doing there.  Read about it, it is interesting.  And look out for a movie called Within Reach.

Burlington, IA was really pretty.  We ate right by the Mississippi River.  It made us miss Jim and Joanne.  The area felt a little like New Orleans.

Personal complaint to Ryan Doty: Ryan informed me that it is no longer necessary (nor has it been since the 1970’s) to double space after a period.  That goes against everything I learned in typing class and this new information has made these last few blog post rather difficult.  Thank you, Ryan!

This is my try at a blog.  I am attempting to do this for my children. My sweet, 3 year old girl, Piper and my little love boy, Levi who is turning 2 March 11th 2012.  I have a wonderful workaholic husband Richard Stovall who has just started his own business with our two friends Ryan Doty and Cathy Redson.  We, together, are SOLPOWERPEOPLE!!  Our new company is on the road to execute our dream of teaching intensive 40 hour solar training all over the US.

This blog however, is about me as a mom, on the road with my family.  Raising toddlers and running a company from our RV aka: our HOME!

My days consist of entertaining the kids, keeping the books for the company and the most fun for me is cooking for my family, Ryan and Cathy.  I love to try new recipes and conveniently enough, as a start up company we are too broke to eat out, so they are stuck eating the food that I make!
